Descendants of ʿAbd al-Dār ibn Quṣayy, eldest son of Quṣayy. Held some of the offices of the Kaʿba (ḥijāba — keeping the keys; liwāʾ — banner; nadwa — assembly house) which his father Quṣayy first instituted.

ʿAbd al-Dār ibn Quṣayy

Eldest son of Quṣayy. He was given the offices of the Kaʿba (ḥijāba — keys; nadwa — assembly house; liwāʾ — banner) by his father, but his descendants later split these with the descendants of his brother ʿAbd Manāf in the famous Quraysh dispute (the "Mutayyabūn vs Aḥlāf" — the Perfumed and the Confederates).
