Abū Zurʿa al-Rāzī was a prominent 9th-century Muslim scholar and hadith transmitter from Rayy, Iran, known for his reliability and strong memory.
Abū Zurʿa al-Rāzī, born in Rayy in either 815/816 or 809/810 CE, was a distinguished Muhaddith of the fourth generation of hadith transmitters. He hailed from the region of Rayy in northern Iran and was related to the notable hadith scholar Abu Hatim al-Rāzī. Renowned for his strong memory and reliability, he played a significant role in the transmission and teaching of hadith. He taught many prominent scholars of his time and contributed to the preservation of Islamic knowledge. He died in Rayy in 878 CE.
