sunan_abi_dawud:813حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ، كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي صَلاَةِ الْمَغْرِبِ بِنَحْوِ مَا تَقْرَءُونَ { وَالْعَادِيَاتِ } وَنَحْوِهَا مِنَ السُّوَرِ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ هَذَا يَدُلُّ عَلَى أَنَّ ذَاكَ مَنْسُوخٌ وَهَذَا أَصَحُّ .
This indicates that those (traditions indicating long surahs) are abrogated, and this is more sound tradition.
