al_adab_al_mufrad:92حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ نُمَيْرِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَاهُ يَقُولُ: كَانُوا يَقُولُونَ: الصَّلاَحُ مِنَ اللهِ، وَالأَدَبُ مِنَ الآبَاءِ.
Numayr ibn Aws said, "They used to say, 'Correct action is a gift from Allah, but adab comes from the parents."
