Supplication· كتاب الدعاء
al_adab_al_mufrad:731حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مُجَاهِدٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ: يَقُولُ الرَّجُلُ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ جَهْدِ الْبَلاَءِ، ثُمَّ يَسْكُتُ، فَإِذَا قَالَ ذَلِكَ فَلْيَقُلْ: إِلاَّ بَلاَءً فِيهِ عَلاءٌ.
(O Allah, I seek refuge in you from the distress of trial and then stops. When he makes this supplication he should also say (except a trial that produces elevation of ranks)
