al_adab_al_mufrad:500حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عُرْوَةُ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ: مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يُصَابُ بِمُصِيبَةٍ، وَجَعٍ أَوْ مَرَضٍ، إِلاَّ كَانَ كَفَّارَةَ ذُنُوبِهِ، حَتَّى الشَّوْكَةُ يُشَاكُهَا، أَوِ النَّكْبَةُ.
It is narrated by Ayeshah (ra) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "when a Muslim is afflicted by an anxiety, pain or sickness then, because of that, his sins are atoned. So much, so that if a thorn pricks him or he suffers a simple, minor injury (His sins are forgiven)”.
